CanSkate Program:

Our learn-to-skate program (CanSkate) is for everyone ages 4 and up - from first time skaters to advanced skaters who would like to improve their technique. Our programs emphasize fun and continuous movement along with quality skill learning. Click here for an outline of a typical CanSkate lesson.

This program benefits all types of skaters (recreational, figure skating, hockey and ringette) by teaching and improving both basic and advanced skating technique.

Classes are taught by qualified and certified professional instructors along with trained program assistants in a small group setting (low skater-coach ratio). Skaters are grouped according to age and skill level. Skaters progress through stages 1 - 7 and badges and incentives are awarded as each level is attained. More information on the badge program and grouping of skaters is available  here.

All skaters must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet. NO BIKE HELMETS ALLOWED. Dress warmly and in layers – mittens or hockey gloves are required. Skates with laces should be worn – molded or ratcheted skates are not recommended. Skate guards must be worn off-ice.
